LIGHT WEIGHT MOUNTAIN HUNTER
Proof Research leads the industry by making some of the lightest hunting rifles on the market today. Ounces equal pounds when you are carrying around a rifle in the field. Much of the weight reduction in the Proof Research full build rifles is achieved through their world class stocks. With their hand laid carbon fiber stock, they've designed an incredible stock that weighs a fraction of traditional rifle stocks while compromising nothing.
At sub 20oz, it does not get much lighter than the Light Weight Mountain Hunter stock. When coupled with a Proof Research Sendero or Sendero Light barrel you can expect to significantly reduce the weight of your rifle. The Light Weight Mountain Hunter features a molded-in carbon fiber v-block, adjustable pillars and is designed to fit all Remington® 700 style actions.
- Compatible with factory Remington® 700 bottom metal or Hawkins Precision bottom metal.
- Currently offered in Black Granite, Green Granite and Brown Granite.

Cooper Firearms of Montana builds some of the finest semi-custom and custom rifles in the USA, all with their own hand-fitted stocks. We are now making certain models available in limited production runs in handmade wood and fiberglass / kevlar / carbon fiber layup construction.
These synthetic stocks feature a hand laid fiberglass shell with Kevlar and carbon fiber reinforcement in high stress areas, resulting in an extremely strong yet lightweight riflestock for your classic builds.
They feature molded-in aluminum action screw pillars, a very appropriate 1” Pachmayr Old English Decelerator butt pad, and a 13-3/4” length of pull. A more vertical pistol-style grip, sculptured forend and deep reliefs behind the grip provide excellent comfort, trigger control and fast handling.
Precision inletting for factory Remington® hinged floorplate bottom metal and sport barrel contour allows for an exceptionally strong stock while maintaining a low 30-31oz weight.
