    Description

Westinghouse Stereophonic High Fidelity with AM-FM Radio, Model H-M1770. This stereo console is in excellent condition. It has been to a vintage electronics guru who has given it the 'once over' and now it works and sounds great as well ! The walnut cabinet is in excellent shapes, no chips, no scratches, no gouges. The original fabric front is in excellent condition, no rips or tears. All of the tags are on the back, and there is even the original Owner's Manual. Plays all of your records, 78's, 33's and even has the original attachment for playing 45's. And if all that isn't enough, this compact sized cabinet at 36"W x 18.5D x 27"H is perfect for an apartment or condo, but still has the big sound for larger areas as well.

I would like to know if there is a source for rough pricing.

    Hi,
Applying poly has been thown back and forth here on the forum. We have seen good results from the use of a varnish, even though the owner knows it wasn't original.

But from a finish standpoint, the applying of a varnish might be fine, but if the old lacquer is flaking off, or has yellowed, the poly will make it stand out more.

I refinished a Philco 90 recently where someone glopped the poly opver the old worn lacquer. The yellowing of th lacquer stood out and made the finish look bad overall. I don't think even a lacquer finish would have hid the yellowing.

I opted to remove the poly (difficult) and the old lac. Resprayed with lacquer.

    Top with poly slathered on.

Poly applied over yellowed original finish.

So whether it is original or not, you have to watch what you are putting the poly on, as far as the condition of the old finish.
Actually, the lacquer and it's softening properties can save an original finish, and the original colors.
It softens just enough to help amalgamate the old finish if it is cracked or worn thin. It is more forgiving, and I have never had a nightmare of applying it.

I'm posting this for the sake of discussion, and others to see, but I am sure you already know :)

I don't have an exact estimatefeel for the value of the set, but looking at a photo and if the set is complete, I might pay $75 to $130 average at a local for it. Unrestored chassis, complete, no burned parts all tubes/knobs present.

You mentioned the set "works". If it has not been recapped, even just the filters, I would not power it up until it has been.
70 year old parts can and will fail, possibly taking out an expensive transformer or other part. Recapping is cheap insurance the set will be reliable and safe for many more years.
If you decide to to the work, the guys here can help guide you along, it isn't hard to do.

    Good luck with your set.
    Gary.

He got out of the car and ran to the metro. Ksyusha straightened her skirt. The ass ached, although the guy's penis was small, but he fucked her for about twenty minutes. Ksyusha climbed into the front seat, started the car and drove home.

No, Deina liked the job, and for good reason. She had low qualifications, since her parents could not afford to pay for a very prestigious university, so the girl learned to be.
