1971 honda sl DEFAULT

Up for auction is a complete collection of professionally-restored vintage Motosport dual-purpose bikes. Honda's 1971 SL family consisted of a 70, 90, 100, 125, 175 and 350 – offered here is the entire line of 1971 Honda SL motorcycles. They are to be sold as a lot.

Marbles Motors out of north Texas has lovingly restored each of these machines to as close as its original glory as possible.

As a young boy, the founder of Marble Motors, Randy Marble, fell in love with an SL70. Inspired later in life, he purchased another SL70 when he was older. This purchase needed a restoration, and that led to another. Marble says "It was never intended to be a career. It was a love of motorcycles as a child—I always wanted to be out and free, to roam and ride. One thing led to another and now it's a full-fledged business restoring old bikes." The SL70 was the bike which started the shop.

Locating and restoring one of each of the entire SL line for this collection became a project of passion for Marble. He used as many NOS parts as possible. He rebuilt and tested each of the engines before they went on display – except for the rarest bike in the lot, the Candy Sapphire Blue SL175—with only 1100 original miles, it just needed its paint job restored.

The SL90 is a rare addition, since it was a Japanese domestic model that was never sold in the U.S. The Candy Emerald Green 90 has a black-painted frame, acutely upswept muffler, a centerstand, and tachometer.

Ahead of its time, the SL70 was a fully featured small motorcycle with a hand clutch and a foot-shift giving it a "big bike" feel. The SL was a unique line of bikes at the time, as they were outfitted with four-stroke engines among a sea of 2-stroke competitors. The editors at Cycle World called the 70 "An ideal beginner's mount,” but added “its appeal is much broader than that...if this multi-age appeal is any indication, Honda has another marketing success on their hands. … It's getting to the point where we will have to admit that Honda has built a real dirtbike." Cycle World Magazine specifically praised the 350cc machine: "Honda's new SL350 is not yet a motocross machine, but it is not intended for that purpose. Rather it is a beautifully conceived, tractable, reliable playbike with newfound rough-terrain capability. It's amiable and has great potential."

For Sale: A Complete Collection Of 1971 Honda SL Motosport Models

This is a complete collection of Honda SL Motosport models from 1971, all of the bikes have been restored except for the rare, low-milage SL175 which was in such fantastic condition it only needed a re-paint in the correct Candy Sapphire Blue.

The collection is made up of a Honda SL70, a Honda SL90, a Honda SL100, a Honda SL125, a Honda SL175, and a Honda SL350.

The Honda SL70 had been introduced just a year earlier in 1970, as with all the bikes in this range it was designed as a dual-sport motorcycle with a four-stroke engine, and a forgiving nature aimed at those new to motorcycle riding. Unlike many other motorcycles aimed at the younger end of the market, the SL70 was a fully-featured motorcycle that had been built to ¾ size. It had a proper hand clutch and foot shifter, giving countless young riders their first ever taste of a “grown up” motorcycle.

The Honda SL900 is a rare bike in the USA, it was a Japan-only model in 1971 and they’re rarely seen outside the country. It’s a slightly larger bike than the SL70, it has a capacity of 89cc, a 4-speed transmission and a manual clutch.

The Honda SL100 was very similar in appearance to the SL90, but the SL100 was offered for sale in the USA. It’s possible the increased engine displacement was designed to bump it up into the triple figures and appeal to a more power-oriented market.

The Honda SL125 was aimed directly at the hotly contested 125cc off-road motorcycle market, it was powered by a 124cc single-cylinder, overhead cam engine with 12 hp at 9,700 rpm, a 5-speed gearbox, and a top speed of 63 mph.

The Honda CL175 was positioned between the 125 and 250 classes, it was a four-stroke twin-cylinder dual sport motorcycle with a single overhead cam, and two-valves per cylinder.

The Honda SL350 offered a significant step up over its brethren, with 32 hp and 20 ft lbs of torque it was capable of reaching significant speeds on both the dirt and tarmac. It was powered by a similar parallel twin to the CL175 and unlike some of its smaller siblings, it was more than capable of carrying adults across all manner of terrain.

The collection is currently being offered for sale by Texas-based Marbles Motors through Bonhams, Marbles was founded 20 years ago when founder Randy Marble bought an SL70 just like the one he’d owned as a boy. He set about restoring it, when it was completed other people started asking him to restore their own vintage Japanese motorcycles, and before long he was running one of the most highly respected workshops in the country.

This full collection of six Honda SL Motosport models has an estimated hammer price of between $40,000 and $45,000 USD. It’s likely a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire them all at once, and it’ll doubtless appeal to anyone who threw a leg over an SL back in the 1970s.

If you’d like to read more about this collection or register to bid on it you can click here to visit the listing. It’s due to be sold on the 24th of January in Las Vegas.

1971 Honda SL70 walk around detail

I raised my head and looked into his eyes. And they told me: "I love you baby". January 13, 2001.

She was not holding a stool, but me, pressing her chest tightly to my knees. Continuing to turn the light bulb, I squinted my eyes down. White lush breasts were visible through the neckline of the robe, and her face was just opposite my groin.

And if I tell you that the first time Nata and I became close during an incredible "group sex". One woman and three guys in one bed. And her own son Anton invented and organized this "holiday of love".

Now discussing:

"Spineless rags!" She once complained to her sister. She just laughed and advised to relieve the tension by watching some porno from the Internet. Which Lena did.
